would like to support the Jersey Sailing Trust and enjoy the occasional
sail around the bay or just sit on deck at sunset and enjoy the
ambience of the marina on a warm summer evening the Basic Membership Fee
is only £5.00 per month. If any Basic Member then wishes to join in any of
the day sailing events then they can still do so by making a one off
donation equal to the amount paid by the Part-Time Crew ie £21.50.
Full Time Crew Membership
subscription crew member has two options that will allow them to go
sailing whenever they like. They can either subscribe monthly for £41.50
or they can receive a discounted annual subscription for £240.00.
Part-Time Crew Membership
For those who
wish to go sailing occasionally (say, once each month) the monthly
subscription is £21.50. This could be reconciled to twelve day sailing
events/outings in the year. In the event that the crew member wanted to go
on a particular cruise then they would pay the fee for that particular
A sponsor who
would like to support one of the Jersey Etchells to enter some of the
inshore races organized by the combined yacht clubs (ie SHYC, RCIYC and
StCSC) could reserve the use of the white Etchell "Bacchanal" for the
sailing season. The cost will be based on a discounted membership for
three crew members for the season.
Offshore and Overnight Cruise
Anyone who is a
subscribing crew member can join the crew of the ketch for any of the
cruises to a foreign port by paying the Cruising Fee of £41.50.
The fee only
covers the reservation of the bunk/berth and it should be noted that for
most meals the crew will probably be taken ashore and offered the Harbour
and marinas charge varying amounts for the use of the mooring therefore
crew of each cruise will be asked to contribute to an expenses or "cruise
kitty" to cover such harbour/marina fees and fuel usage. This will vary
according to the destination and number of participating crew. The skipper
will advise this in advance.
It should also
be born in mind that if the yacht has to use the diesel engine to get them
home in time to go to back to work then the fuel used has to be paid for
out of the "cruise kitty".
If a crew
member decides to return home by an alternative form of travel there can
be no refund.
